A Heart's Revolution Hair Contest

This is the official landing page for "A Heart's Revolution Hair Contest"

The original post about A Heart's Revolution can be found HERE.

How to Enter

Create an 18th Century Inspired Hairstyle! You don't need to be a professional hairstylist to have fun with the hair fashion of the era. Have you seen how tall they got their hair back then? Granted, wigs were used in addition to real hair, but WOW!

There are multiple ways to enter this contest! The GRAND PRIZE winner will receive an awesome prize pack filled with goodies!
  • Entries must be submitted by Saturday, March 31st 11:59pm EST.
  • Entries may include:
  1. Your own hair styled by you
  2. Someone else's hair styled by you
  3. A doll's hair styled by you
  4. A drawing or painting of an era-appropriate hairstyle created by you.
  • To submit entries: Post your photo on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook. Must include the following:
  1. Tag me @RoseannaMWhite
  2. #RMWHairContest #BigHairDontCare

Winning

Winner will be selected by Random.org. All entries will have equal opportunity to win.

Grand Prize:

One Winner will be selected from the entries submitted. Winner will receive the following:
  • A print copy of A Heart's Revolution (Signed)
  • "Keep Calm and Read" mug
  • Sipping Cocoa from Askinosie Chocolate
  • Necklace with A Heart's Revolution quote: "I can not think it Reckless to do the right thing."
Remember this is supposed to be FUN! Don't stress yourself out and go all crazy purchasing items to stick in your hair. My assistant (pictured with the crazy hair) just used a plastic container to make her hair stand up tall and secured it with a hair tie at the top...and then stuck craft feathers and leaves in.

****UPDATE****
Guess what? We are adding MORE to the Grand Prize! A $20 credit to Lilla Rose has been added! A HUGE "Thank You!" to Myra for the donation! You can see a few of their products pictured below...Pretty appropriate for the contest I think! You can follow Myra's Newsletter HERE. And join her group on Facebook HERE.

The more creative the better.

    1. You're so welcome! I've done this before on other blogs where I've been a guest and never paused to think that I hadn't done it here! An oversight I had to remedy. =)

  6. What an interesting contest. It will be fun to see if I’ll participate as I don’t have hair that would stay up that high..lol.

    1. It doesn't have to be your own hair! You could style someone else's, a doll's, or even submit a drawing or painting. It's more about the fun (and funny) sharing than anything. ;-)

  7. Did you see that there is an interactive "make your own wig" website https://www.vam.ac.uk/designawig/ -- found it when I was looking for inspiration on how to do my hair...

    1. Hmm, I have the wig all set but can't get the combs or feathers to go on the wig (from the wig design page)... I printed the page and will see what I can come up with.

    2. Congratulations on the re-release of your book Roseanna!
What a fun giveaway! I have completed my big-hair style and have posted it on my facebook page and your facebook page as well. I had fun doing that and my hubby found it interesting too, however, he said "no ships" so I didn't put the ship in the hair. ;-)
      Blessings, Tina
