To celebrate the release of The Reluctant Duchess, I'm giving away some things that would make Rowena smile.
~ Brookside chocolates.
Because . . . chocolate. Need I say more?

A little tea to go with those biscuits . . . ;-)
(Try adding a dash of cherry juice and almond extract to this. Seriously good stuff.)

~ Traditional Music of Scotland CD
Rowena's father says he has "a man McCloud who can pipe the faeries from their hills."
This best-selling CD might be able to do the same. (Well you never know!)

and a special something hand-crafted by me
~ Rowena's favorite scarf
This beauty, in a deep red reminiscent of the cover and rubies, would give Rowena comfort on those blustery days. It could drape her shoulders when she has just a bit of a chill
or wrap around her neck to add a bit of style to her warmth.
Made from a wool/acrylic blend that is super-soft. Machine washable and dryable.

I received an eBook copy from NetGalley (which reminds me, I haven't shared it on my blog yet, though I've posted it elsewhere) and loved it so much that I preordered a paper copy from Amazon! The day it came I sat down and spent an hour and a half rereading my favorite parts. *sigh* I need to just read it again. :)
ReplyDeleteBook sounds awesome! And what a super giveaway!!

ReplyDeleteIf I were to win, I'd say the scarf would be my least favorite part of the prize. Not knocking your skills; I'm just severely allergic to wool in all its forms! So, I couldn't wear it, and you'd have to pack it sealed in a separate bag...
ReplyDeleteI like the prizes-something good to read, something good to eat, something good to wear, something good to drink, and something good to hear.

ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing giveaway! I love everything in there!!
ReplyDeleteLove your comforts giveaway, you have absolutely great taste...thank you....
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome giveaway! I have never had Rooibos Tea. What flavor does it have? I love the necklace and scarf. Do you crochet while watching Hallmark movies without even watching what you are crafting? My youngest daughter will sit and crochet without even watching what she is doing. Of course, the scarf might be knitted. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt was very interesting to read the process you went through to develop Rowena's character and back story. Thank you for sharing it with us.
This would make a perfect night of romance, first a bubble bath with listening to music, then, dress in my cotton nightgown, o' the cookies and chocolate, what a delight, followed by an all night of reading! The shawl and tea to warm me up! And the necklace, well, I was wearing that while playing with the bubbles! silhouettesinscale@yahoo . com

And as the story line ended, Ella borrowed those pierced dangle earrings from Rowena. Perhaps your next give away could feature those beauties?
